The series of children&#8217;s books are written by &#8220;Lemony Snicket,&#8221; the pen name of the actual author,\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">Daniel Handler. A movie by the same name was released in 2004 and Starred Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, the primary antagonist of the film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The film seemed to do pretty well. It&#8217;s currently at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/lemony_snicket\/?search=lemony%20snicket\" target=\"_blank\">72% on RottenTomatoes<\/a>\u00a0although the audience score is a bit lower. It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve seen it but I remember it being very visually stylized and overall an enjoyable movie, even if you hadn&#8217;t read the books. It grossed $118M\u00a0at the box office but I guess that wasn&#8217;t enough to earn it a sequel even though there was plenty more source material to pull from.<\/p>\n<p>But now Netflix is bringing it back in the form of a TV show and Neil Patrick Harris will be taking over the Count Olaf role. Harris made the announcement in a tweet where he jokes about child actors, both making fun of his youthful career and already getting into character as the Count.
