A Seriously Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Title

Whiskey Hotel Foxtrot is a euphemism in the military for “what the fuck” – much like the standard WTF of civilian life. It is also a movie set to come out March 4th 2016 starring Tina Fey, Margo Robbie, and Martin Freeman. It is based on a book but it is not based on the 2007 Whiskey Tango Foxtrot that was about photographer Ashley Gilbertson’s time covering the war in Iraq. Nor is it based on the popular 2014 break out novel by David Shafer. It’s actually based on The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan (2011) by Kim Baker.

Confused yet? Don’t worry about it. Watch the trailer below and enjoy. It looks like a lot of fun but may also have some more heart than I’m use to seeing in Tina Fey, especially in a feature length movie. I was big of hers on 30 Rock and I enjoyed Bossypants (2011) quite a bit. I know she is capable of having really sincere moments on screen and I hope she embraces those moments in this movie.
